"To the Mostlies:
As for this year's show - what can I say? It was WONDERFUL and stupendous and marvelous and and and - and I was so glad I remembered to get my tickets early (or earlier than I usually remember). *And* I am thrilled that you guys are selling out the house for your shows - about time! (Excellent coverage in the Coloradoan, too, very nice.) In addition to Ted (the other member of our family) and Kyle, we brought two other long-time fans, and her daughter and two newcomers to town, who are huge fans of Capitol Steps, which made it so much easier to explain to them why they had to come. They had a great time, too - and were much impressed by the performance level and professionalism, too. And now they are better edukated about our fair town, too (haha).
And perhaps most important about the show for me - somewhere in there, I laughed long and hard enough to get one of those little internal shifts that said "Life's gonna be okay" - something I haven't felt for a long time and that I definitely needed. Much thanks." -Judy
"Dear Barbara,
Thank you for taking the time to share the song entitled "Obama." I am much humbled by the fact that your comedy troop would choose me as the inspiration for a song. Good luck in all of your future endeavors."
Sincerely,
Barack Obama

"August 8, 2006
To: Shara Handley-Pool, Barbara Sherrod and Marj Walsh and all the Mostlies,
Since I personally know Shara, Barbara, and Marj this note is addressed directly to you three, but please share it with all of the Mostlies.
My wife Elaine and I have been attending your performances from the beginning. We marvel at the creativity demonstrated year after year as you lampoon local, state, national, and international affairs and those who make the decisions in those venues. How you remember all the lyrics continue to amaze us.
Were it not for your performances, the politically sophisticated audiences you entertain would have to travel to off Broadway New York to find your kind of political humor and professional delivery. So thanks for keeping us laughing out here in the hinterlands.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, your finale “We Kid America” is musical testimony that, to-date, we are such a strong nation that we can laugh at ourselves. In how many countries around the world would the government, the church, or both acting in concert close down the Mostlies?
I hope you retain “We Kid America” as an annual conclusion which is an extension of the transparency and vibrancy encouraged by the First Amendment to the Constitution."
Sincerely,
Bob Lawrence
