You might suppose that the Mostlies would have had to go on sabbatical now that George W. has become a simple citizen (the word ‘simple’ is a given) and the economy has reflectively begun to hobble toward a tentative recovery.

But no! Just when the caliber of material seemed thinner that a lace hanky and equally useless in terms of melodious satire, Octo-Mom produced a litter that would stun a golden retriever! And wouldn't you just know, Chia Pet, that agrarian anomaly, has produced a terra cotta likeness of Obama's head, guaranteed to grow a lush crop of green hair. Could it get any better?

Then there’s texting, sexting, and twittering – all in the name of technology. At least one of which requires more thumb dexterity than most of us can manage! All that, and Ward Churchill, trains, aging, goose poop, and any other idiotic event that happens between now and opening night.

The Mostlies couldn't make this stuff up. They can, however, immortalize it in song. Don't miss this abundantly-talented group in their 2009 summer show, "Shovel Ready and Over-Stimulated!" Mr. Bush may be history, but the Mostlies continue to flourish – a Fort Collins tradition of musical humor at its very best!
